Is there any reason my Total Air Vac-u-Pump wouldn't work for degassing silicone for mold-making/casting? (It isn't a "just try it" situation, as I need to decide whether to buy the pot/set-up with or without a vacuum pump)
Thanks!

Vacuum pumps for degassing tend to pull a little higher vacuum that ours do. Whether it matters or not I cannot say. If you do try it with your total air pump run it for a few minutes in continuous run to make sure your getting the maximum vacuum the pump can pull, then switch it over to auto cycling. Auto cycling mode will shut off a little below max vacuum.
