I'm trying to bend some black limba/korina veneer against the grain, the hard way. Just a small piece to go on a guitar headstock.
Has anyone tried soaking veneer in the tamer solution?? The only way i has some meager success was to soak in the tamer solution for a few hours. Can I let is soak for 4 hours or longer??
Anybody else do something similar? Just curious of any issues that might pop up.
thanks
joe

Feel free to soak it overnight if you want. I’m not sure if 4hrs will make a difference or not. Depends on the thickness of the veneer. Is it commercially sliced or are you resawing it?

I build acoustic guitars also and am wondering what the results were when you soaked the veneer overnight and then tried to bend it over the headstock.
I generally use Super Soft 2 when I am bending sides. I don't know if that will help you or not but thought I would provide the information to you.
