OK all you Festool lovers out there, I am making the plunge (pun intended)and getting the TS 75. Now I know you all use the 48 tooth ATB for the TS 55 for jointing raw veneer, but I'm wondering which blade is its equivalent for the TS 75? The blade it comes with is a 36 tooth ATB. Thinking maybe the 60 tooth "triple chip blade with positive hook" - says its designed for laminate flooring, solid countertops. Anybody with any veneer cutting experience with the TS 75?
Much appreciated
Enrico

Just curious...why the 75?

As far as which blade to use with that saw, I would try the stock blade first, and see how that works.

Also, I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard that if you reverse the blade, it will cut even cleaner.

I'm getting the 75 because I've been doing quite a few thick torsion box panels (2" plus) that the 55 doesn't have enough depth of cut to handle. And because I can't quite justify buying both the 55 and the 75, which is what a few on the Festool Owners Group forum recommended.
Even without that specific need, I have found that, as my business has grown, I've always regretted not getting the larger capacity whatever, whether it was a vacuum bag or pump or tablesaw or jointer.

thanks
Enrico

Gotcha.

My thoughts are that for the extra money, my tablesaw can cut the thicker stuff.

And once, I used this strategy with my 55...

I did a butcher-block top that was too thick for the 55, and the tablesaw was not available.

I made my first cut at full depth.

Then flipped the board over, and made my second cut 1/8" proud of the first cut.

Then a flush trim bit to clean up the second cut.

If you want to save the $125 or so, you can use this method for the rare times that you can't cut the extra thickness on the tablesaw, and the 55 doesn't quite have the reach.

My 2 cents, but you have a good point about buying JUST what you need at this moment in time, and then later regretting it.

I've certainly done that.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but it sorta matches the new one about the festool 55. I found the 75 at $120.00 more than the 55. Other than depth of cut, is there a difference?

Thank you,
Rob

I'm pretty sure that the 75 is a little more powerful, and it has a deeper cut.

However, you will never bog down the 55, so the only real practical difference is the depth.

Thanks. Now for the next logical question: What is the difference in depth (cut) capacity? What is the difference in power? I take it that the 75 is the 8.5" and the 55 is 7.something blade. I obviously don't use my circular saw much. I use my mini from my crapsman combo. It's actually pretty nice to use, for someone with carpal tunnel and a bad back. I might be able to find out the differences online, but who knows. I lost power and lost the web site that had the two saws on it. I hope I can find it again.

Thanks,
Rob

Regarding the comparison, Here it is:
TS 55 = 10 amps, 1-15/16" depth, 10 pounds, 6-1/4" diameter blade
TS 75 = 13 amps, 2-3/4" depth, 13.6 pounds, 8-1/4" diameter blade

Thanks Rockler.
