Hi, Dave,
The Fein Multi Master is the magic bullet that has solved all of my veneer jointing woes since I read a post on this forum some months ago. I built a jig that carries the Multi Master on a plexiglas base in the manner of a circular saw. I am able to track a straight edge with this, and it cuts veneer beautifully. I use a base I made using mdf with a saw kerf that gives clearance to the oscillating blade. I made a straightedge/holddown by doing a bent lamination in 1/4 masonite x 4, across a very long radius. With the curve pressing down on the veneer, the veneer is held securely with no clamps in the way. I run my multi-master saw down its 8 ft. edge, and my veneer is ready to tape. I wish I could describe this more clearly. It will solve the problem that so many of us have struggled with for so long. Play around with this tool. It will do the job.
