I want to glue crotched mahogany veneer to a backer veneer, and then apply the two-ply over a curved surface. I assume the flattening solution is the correct way to first soften the crotch veneer. Do I still start by drying the veneer for three days with fiberglass and newspaper, or would it be better to only partially dry it, so it will be softer and easier to bend? What is the time window for bending this crotch veneer before it gets too stiff? How dry does the crotch veneer have to be before I use it with the urea glue?
