Anyone have any clever solutions for bag storage? Have a polyurethane bag at 4x8 and trying to decide if it is best to store it rolled, folded, or flat out all the time.

Mostly curious to hear about how everyone stores and cares for bags to ensure long life!

Thanks all. Happy sucking!

I have a couple that I leave rolled up. But my main bag I leave on the pressing table all the time. I just have them covered up with a couple sheets of cardboard to keep dust and sunlight off of them. The poly bags roll up better than the vinyl.

Thanks, Aaron! Much obliged. Not sure if we can have a bag out all the time, but the cardboard is a great idea.

Just trying to get a general sense of how folks approach this. I realize it is a fairly basic question but I know there are probably some great solutions out there. Thanks!

The most important thing is to keep the bag away from direct light as well as indirect light, over the long run. For polyurethane keeping it rolled up it the box is came in is fine. For a vinyl bag you can roll it up but very loosely and better wrapped in a blanket. Over long term storage certain plasticizers can leach out of vinyl and leave a sticky film on the bag, but only if it's rolled up tight with no air circulation. This is not a concern with polyurethane.

i screwed a few hand spring clamps to the wall and store the bags hanging from them. depending on width several bags can overlap - but they hold about 5 bags of various sizes. sometimes it is a challenge to press down on the clamp to insert a bag while the others then want to fall - but this way they do not take up any floor or cabinet space.

Sounds like a great concept. I probably wouldn't do it with vinyl but for polyurethane it makes good sense.
