Seems way way overkill to me. After 6-7 hrs at 70 degrees, it should be pretty much done. At least with the UF glue I've been using. An additional 1 hr at 100 degrees would definitely finish it if it isn't already. Using a heating pad, which is around 75-80 degrees, I can easily do 3 pressings in a 12 hr day, and that's curved multi-layered laminations. Do the recommended thing: put a little of the excess glue in a baggie in the same heat conditions as what is being glued -- once the glue is hard, the glue is cured. For curved laminations, I will let the piece set for a couple days as curves will toe in as the glue fully cures and shrinks a bit, but any clamping at this point is completely unnecessary for my things.
I'm curious: I'm a dedicated flyfisher but have never made any bamboo rods; are their advantages to using UF glues with bamboo rods? The fellow I know that makes a living making bamboo steelhead rods never touches the stuff.
