Subject : Stubborn vacuum bag seals - any tricks?

My vacuum bag, no doubt like most production bags, seals on the same basic priciple as a zip lock food bag, except there are three small locking channels instead of one big one. I'm sure I'm not the first person who sometimes has trouble getting it sealed quickly. You can't just run the seal between your fingers and thumb and run along the length - that will seal some sections, but other sections you have to pinch them inch by inch. Pretty soon panic sets in that the glue will start to set before I ever get a vacuum! I just wondered if anybody has ever come up with anything that helps, like talcum powder or something.

Doug,

Personally, I'm not a fan of zip lock vacuum bags for a number of reasons but you might want to get a regular wallpaper roller, about 1" wide, and try using that. As long as the support table you have the bag on is under the zip lock you can run the wall paper roller down the length of it, should work.

Sincerely
