I made two curved doors for a corner cabinet. They had a radius of 16 inches. and were 22 inches tall. I made a form such as yours, but I spaced the "ribs" about 3 inches apart. I also glued a piece of 1/8" bending ply to the ribs to stabilize and strengthen the structure. The doors themselves were made from 6 sheets of 1/8 bending ply glued up with unibond. I don't have a vacuum press so I clamped the sandwich of 6 sheets and glue down with some ratcheting band clamps sold to hold stuff to a roof rack. (Home depot sells a pack of 4 clamps for 16 bucks). I also used the same rig for veneering both sides.
When I made the door core, I put a piece of scrap veneer between the rig and the bending ply so that when I layed up the veneer, the radius would be correct. I'm not sure this was necessary, but this was my first veneer project and my first bending project, so I was over cautious - perhaps.
The doors are ridgid with absolutely no springback. The only difficult part was trimming them square. It help to mark a line on the rig that runs the length of the rig, and then transfer the line to the door. This is a reference line for when you need to rip the sides straight while keeping them parallel to the center line.
