Wondering if any of the commonly used glues for veneering - urea formaldehyde or plastic resin, white and yellow, epoxy - will want to stay stuck to a poly bag for a long time (i.e. cause problems).

White and yellow glues pretty much dont stick. Urea resin and epoxy will stick a bit over time. Some wax or vegetable oil will take care of that. Polyurethane glue will not come off and should not be used where the glue might come in contact with the bag.

Thanks Darryl. I'm guessing that the wax or vegetable oil would be applied lightly to the bag surface before a clamping session, rather than to try to remove adhered glue?

Darryl,

I am wondering about the same issue that Don raised. Will the vegetable oil remove the urea resin glue? Or, is it only a preventive measure?

Saying this another way, how do I get cured urea resin glue off of my polyurethane bag?

I just had this problem and no solvent we used worked. I placed a wet towel slightly bigger than a iron over the glue with the iron on high being careful not to dry the towel out, ironed the towel and steamed the glue with hot steam. The glue became soft enough to wipe off with the steamy hot towel.
