I am Building a flat press and need to know the rule of thumb as to how much Polyurethane sheeting to use for the top. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Tim,

Can you rephrase your question? I am not clear as to what you are asking.

Sincerely

Would you mean a frame press, where the top lifts up, rather than a bag press?

I am talking about a frame press, where the top lifts off.

Tim,

Well, I still don't know how you're planning to seal your frame and how the polyurethane will be attached but in general you cant make the poly much bigger than the frame otherwise it will pucker at the corners. This means you wont be able to press much more than 3/4" high. The only way to get additional height capacity is to have your poly sheet pleated so it lays flat under the frame.

Sicerely
