I am currently working on a project that I intend to resaw some thicker veneers and use them over solid wood. Any suggestions, tricks, troubles that I might encounter?

Lomax,
As long as you run the thick veneer with the grain running in the same direction as the solid you will be fine. I do suggest gluing the veneer edges together before pressing. Be sure to apply the same thickness veneer to the other side as well.

Is there a practical limit to the veneer thickness relative to the width of the panel? As the "veneer" gets exceedingly thick, it seems to resemble a traditional "laminataion" more so than a veneer.

James,
When you're glueing a veneer to solid with the grain going in the same direction the thickness is really irrelevant. Since everything is going in the same direction it can be 1/40" thick or 1", it will all move together.

I'm planning on laminating a 3/8 thick bubinga "veneer" to another layer of 3/8 bubinga. As long as I run the grain in the same direction I should be fine, right?
These pieces are for some solid doors 18" wide and about 25" tall, I'm planning on using 2" wide endcaps on the top and bottom edges of the doors.
