Subject : Has anyone done Goatskin parchment panels

Along with the head board the job also has a desk with the door panels veneered with goatskin parchment, or sheepskin. I got some stuff to play around with and some glue called Klucel-G any suggestions on how to veneer with this stuff, and what substrate would work best. the house is by the coast so moister veriations is a consideration.

What information regarding application were the skin and glue suppliers able to offer?

the supplyer said that the guys that do know how to do it , don't really tell other how they do it. As far as the glue, it is mainly used for conservatory uses in antique books but is the hottest thing around very flexable and mixes with alcohol rather than water. glue comes with no instructions supply said people who buy it know how to use it they just supply it. but did add that i sould use 20% to solution volume and go from there.

Found several possibly good sites using www.dogpile.com or www.google.com searching on "glue parchment" or "glue sheepskin." Might also search on Fine Woodworking's discussion site www.taunton.com/fw click on "knots".
