Dear Dennis,Although the iron on technique does work, I would be careful of using it on large panels, you did not mention the size of your work to be veneered. I feel this is an over used technique, especially on raw veneer. At least on paper backed veneer the glue that bonds the paper to the veneer can withsand the temperature of an iron. No matter what, you are putting very high localized heat on the veneer and then moving that heat around, this is not the best way to bond veneer with PVA glues. If its your only option then try it. In the long run you may want to consider a press of some kind.I also recommend Oakwood for paper backed veneer, they are a quality, service oriented companySincerelyDarryl Keil: Thanks, It`s funny you mention Oakwood, that is exactly where I plan to get my veneer! I e-mailed them the other day about shipping charges, ($8), and it turns out that it`s cheaper to have it delivered to my door than to buy it locally.: Dennis Beaupre
