Need to make a couple display shelves for the workshop to show turned bowls. Won't be a lot of weight, but they will be 8' long. Like the first pair I plan to imbed two pieces of 1" square iron tubing and fill the voids with high density blue or pink insulating foam. Any thoughts on whether yellow glue and plastic resin glue will bond equally well to the foam?

Don,

I dont think either of those glues will stick to that building insulation. Of course you can give it a try but I would test either polyurethane or epoxy.

This reply may be too late for you, nevertheless.... I've used poly glue (Gorilla brand, usually) with great success. I've done structural panels this way since 2003. I've not had a failure, but... knock on wood.

I haven't tested any other glue.
