No doubt there's many ways to cut narrow strips. I use a sharp veneer saw and pair of MDF alignment guides slidhtly longer than the strips I want to cut. Joint very straight edges on each of the MDF pieces (hard on blades, so perhaps rip the edges as straight as possible on the table saw first). Set the table saw blade height to just a smidge less than the thickness of the veneer. With repeated passes, make a rabbet along one edge as wide as the desired veneer strip. Joint the veneer edge as straight as possible. Slide the veneer tight against the far edge of the rabbet. Position the 2nd piece of MDF against the rabbeted one and press down, trapping the veneer against a scrap pice of plywood underneath it. Take off the rabbeted MDF and using the veneer saw cut off the strip. Repeat as needed. It will take a couple dry runs to figure out how to organize the various pieces so they are all within reach and your arms don't get tangled.
