Anyone used the new Unibond one or the Betterbond before. Was wanting to use these for doing my coldpress veneer work and use outside in carport with temps around 80 degrees. want to apply veneer to speaker cabinets

Jeffrey,

Since no one is jumping in on this thread I'll add my two cents. Unlike Unibond 800 which is a two part urea resin glue, both Unibond One and the Better bond are PVA's, (like a white or yellow glue)

I cant speak for Better Bond but Unibond One is formulated with an extra long open work time which will be helpful at your higher temps. Still, 15 minutes will be the maximum, probably 10 min at 80 degrees. If you know you need longer work time than this then I would consider a urea resin instead. If you do use a PVA make sure you stay out of the sun or else your open time will be drastically reduced. Same goes for the urea resin as well.

Thank you Darryl,
Have been watching your videos before attempting first set of Speaker cabinets. Appreciatte all the info. I will be working in carport area, which is covered and out of sun light. Bought a really nice Vacuum system from a guy who was an avid woodworker. Came with what appears to be everything I would possibly need. Included two different size vacuum bags.
Will be applying figured mohaghany to 3/4 MDF on speaker cabinets. I will do practice run on a smaller set of cabinets first. It was suggested that I use inner supports or use Airform bags.

Do be careful with your speakers. Vacuum pressure is more powerful than you think and some kind of internal support would be wise, otherwise you could end up hearing a big bang and find some imploded speakers.
