I routinely use Unibond 800 when pressing veneer onto plywood or MDF. But I have started a job where the veneer will be pressed onto solid wood, with the grains running in the same direction to allow for expansion/contraction. I was wondering if I could use Unibond 800. My concern is that this glue, when it hardens by itself, eventually forms a brittle non-expansionary material. I wonder if the glue would resist the expansion/contraction of the solid base and eventually cause problems.
