Subject : Should I crossband under 1/16" veneer?

I'm going to lay up 1/16" walnut veneer on MDF using PVA glue. Should I consider crossbanding under the walnut to minimize the chance of veneer checking?

Ive personally never seen 1/16" veneer check. Did you buy this commercially sliced or is this stuff you've resawn?

Steve,

Even though resawn veneer would not develop cracks without cross banding I still wouldnt cross band, even with 1/16" commercial sliced veneer.
