I would like to build a bent-laminated and coopered bowl. Between each maple stave I would like to put a pinstripe of walnut.

The maple staves will be about 5/16th inch thick and 3 inches wide. I would like the walnut pinstripe to be about 1/16th inch thick.

I am planning to glue a single layer of the walnut veneer to one side of the maple stave and then sand it back to the curve before gluing on the next stave.

Any other faster options?

I think that sounds fine. Are you thinking about clamping it in the bag?
And how are you going to clamp each stave together?

I was going to clamp the staves together with masking tape and band-clamps, and I guess I would tape the pinstriping to each individual stave, sand it down to the contour of that stave and then glue on the second stave.

I just keep wondering if there is a faster or easier way to do this?

Likely there are a number of published articles on coopering that would offer clamping methods. I suspect you would first want to glue the thin strip to its accompanying stave and make flush first, so fewer pieces to work with. A dry clamping run would provide some experience, but pieces wet with glue sure slip and slide for me more than dry pieces.
