Subject : glue problems on Medex or Extira

Hi folks,
I have two projects in the works, both requiring veneers laid up on moisture resistant panels. My supplier warned me about glue compatibility with Medex and Medite. I'm also considering Extira as a panel for some interior window surrounds which may be subjected to moisture, possibly even drips. Does anyone know if unibond is suitable for these layups? How about tite-bond 3?

Oh, one job is a layup of figured sycamore, natural veneer. The other will be paper backed walnut. Both are for bathrooms.

Does this sound like an environment suitable for wood and wood products? Can't imagine how all the surfaces will be completely encapsulated against this level of moisture exposure unless caulked within an inch of its life and painted. Perhaps I'm old and jaded . . .

Jim,

Ive never heard any glue issues with Medex or Medite but cant speak for Extira. Did your supplier give you any idea as to what the issues were and what glues he considered to be a problem?

I frequently use Unibond when veneering to Medite and have had no problems.
