Subject : Makore Crotch v. Mahogany Crotch

I have completed Five Crotch Makore doors (except for the finish, uggh hate that part), but now after finishing another area I have to build another five and some closet doors to match. Certainly Wood has two Makore Crotch flitches, but I found they have some great Mahogany Crotch veneer flitches that will save a ton of taping time (one flitch is 24"+ x furniture len). From my samples and looking at the pics the two look very similar. Do you agree?

the two are night and day. makore will be auburn red when you finish it and crotch mahogany will be a very rick brown color . there more feather and plume in crotch mahogany than in makore.

Hi Brad,
I don't have much experience with veneering yet, but I do know wood pretty well. I completely agree, night and day. Their grain is pretty different too.
