Hi,
i know i touched on this before but i'll pass it along again. when i was in philly for the woodworking show, darryl was there as well, there was a guy selling a machine capable of veneering profiles. preferably raised panel profiles as well as routed designs. the machine was about 53 inches long, it had a heater bar in it that was the shape of a raised panel, you would apply glue to the substrate, take a strip of venner wet it a little with a sponge, then push the edge of the panel against the bar and it would glue the strip to the edge.
quite an amazing machine considering it was portable. the guys last name was gordy. i think his first name was edward.
then only way to do that now a days is to have the mirror profile as a caul, veneer should be a little thinner say 1/64th
