Subject : Why not paper towels for flattening?

All the posts about flattening talk about using newspaper. What I will be flattening will not be too large - book mathced cuts for door insets, etc. If I use the window screening to isolate the wood, is there a reason to not use paper towels as opposed to going out to hunt up blank newsprint?

The lack of responses may indicate that no one can tell you why not to do it.

Sounds reasonable to me, but everyone that I've ever talked to says to use newsprint...I'd also like to know if there's a good answer to this one...maybe paper towels will draw that solution out too quickly...but I'd be willing to try it.

Doug,

Once you give it a try, let us know how it worked.

By the way, you can use regular newspaper with print on it as long as its black and white, no color.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil

I use paper towels all the time and they work great. Scott
