Hello everyone, new to the forum. I have a question on a new vacuum press I'm considering. I'm looking at the Model # 510 10HF, my question is there any disadvantge to getting a larger bag? I think the dimensions on the bag are 61"x121". Most of the stuff that I'm going to be doing is considerable smaller than that but the price difference between it and the 49"x97" bag is minimal and who knows, may be in the future I'll try something larger. Any comments will be appreciated.

Joe,

If you have a good sized table to lay the bag out on having it be bigger shouldn't really be a problem. You only have to unroll the amount of bag you wish to use, or more accurately, the size of the platen you put in it. With the HiFlo pump the extra air removal of a bigger bag is negligible so that's not an issue either. If you plan on doing curved work, especially large curved work the extra width of the wider bag will come in handy.

Hope this helps in making your decision.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil

I have both those size bags. I am usually using the larger one simply because it's easier to fit things in and it doesn't take up all that much room. The point regarding curved work especially using a built form, is a good one. Sometimes I'd like to have a considerably smaller bag for when floor space is at a premium. Given the choice of only one, I'd go for the big one.

Gentlemen, thank you very much for the response. I think I will go with the larger bag. Thanks again.
