Been veneering a bunch of small plywood veneer stands, so mixing up some urea formaldehyde a couple times a day, with excess after each pressing. In the past I looked for a garbage can with lots of "stuff" in it to catch the glue when I poured it it. Quite by accident I cut the top and neck off a 1 liter plastic water or soda bottle and poured the excess it. Found that a bondo plastic spreader is perfect for getting almost all the left over glue out of the mixing tub, and the after the excess in the plastic water bottle has hardened it pops right out and can be tossed without risking glue all over the bottom of the garbage can. Less than half a teaspoon now that gets flushed into the sanitary sewer with the wash water.

Don't wash anything down the drain. It's not good for your pipes or for the sewage treatment facility. I use paper soft drink cups to mix my glue. One is used for the resin and another for the powder. I reuse the powder cups. The cups can be purchased in bulk at Costco or other places like that. They are not expensive. Let the glue harden in them, then toss em.

Disposing of extra mixed Unibond 800 by letting it harden is by far the best method. Catalyzed Unibond is basically inert and can be thrown in the trash. If there are items that need to be washed out keep a five gallon bucket filled with water and keep on using that. The formaldehyde and alcohol will flash off and the resins will sink to the bottom. If you have Unibond that has started to thicken and is past its shelf life mix it up the catalyst and once it hardens this too is can easily disposed of without environmental concern.

Sincerely

I really liked Jeff's suggestion, and kept looking for larger paper cups in which a mixing whisk would fit. Found Sweetheart "P4325" 32 ounce paper cups at www.polytek.com costing $8.50 plus shipping for a sleeve of 25. Also found 32 ounce paper cups at the local large chain grocery store in the deli dept, used for potato salad, ... Getting disposable 3" and 4" foam rollers at www.brush.com so almost nothing at all to clean up.
