Hi,

I recently bought a Compact 100 used from a person. The kit came with everything but the manual. I am sure I can get one from you at Vacu Press.

I was told the system was never used, the pump was still in the shipping box and attached to a wood base and secured in the box.

I plugged it in to see if it worked and all I heard was the sound of an electric motor trying to cycle, but not running, is there some type of shipping lock on the pump that I need to release? I also did not see an on/of switch, ...help!!

Take care,
Jim

Jim,

If the pump as sat for a long time and never been run it may just need a helping hand to get it started. There is no on/off switch the pump is just meant to run when you plug it in.

First I would take it out of the box, unscrew it from the base, put on the rubber suction cup feet. If you look at the back end, the end opposite the vacuum connection, you will see white fan blades behind a black grill. Take a screw driver and turn the blades a little. This should move the diaphragm arm enough to free the pump up from sitting unused.

When you plug it in the motor should start right up. If not give us a call and we can trouble shoot it for you.

If you have a fax number we can fax the owners manual to you.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil

Hi Darryl,

Well I did as you said, I plugged it in and gave the white fan a bit of a prodding with a stick and on the second try it whirled away!

Thank You...I let it run for 10 minutes and it ran well. I was wondering will it shut off when it reaches a specific vaccuum? I was wondering if it can be used for a bag bigger than 49 x 49" I know it's a small pump, I may well need to go bigger to do panels like 24 x 42" ?

Thanks,
take care,
Jim

Jim,

To keep the Compact 100 affordable we use a pump that easily handles continuous running and is fairly quite. It meant to run the entire time you are pressing.

You can get a bigger bag but I would recommend it only be used for flat work so the evacuation time doesn't get too excessive. I don't know if you typed in the wrong measurement's but 24"x 42" panels will fit fine in the 49"x 49" bag.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil
