Is there a particular brand or type of blanket that is best for keeping a constant temp on my veneer bag. I remember reading somewhere that the old style blankets were better than the newer types.Any suggestions? Thanks! Len

Len,

I was the one that made the comment about the old style electric blankets because I heard the new ones cut out after so long if there isnt a body underneath them.

I'm not so sure about this as I bought one for our bed and accidently had it on for hours without any one under it, never turned off. Maybe some of the new ones do and some dont.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil

Thanks for clearing that up! I'll pick up a blanket and get on with the next project! Len

I think that with modern electric blankets, they function better when they are surrounded on both sides....with sheets, a mattress, a body, or whatever...some kind of extra insulation.

When I use my electric blanket, I always put something on top of it...1/4" hardboard, or whatever. I especially do this if I have to spread the blanket unfolded as a single sheet across a large surface. If there is nothing covering the blanket when it's completely unfolded, it never seems to warm up.
