Subject : Gluing two-ply

I am ready to glue a two-ply veneer panel to a demilune table apron. My two-ply width matches the apron width exactly. Any suggestions on how I might best prevent the two-ply from slipping or moving even slightly out of position? Thank you.

Because an apron is not that wide this would be a great application for shrink wrap. I've used it many times to hold things in place and keep them from sliding around. I dont tend to use it on raw commercially sliced veneer but for two ply and thicker resawn veneer it works great. The shrink wrap I use is 5" wide.

Darrell, Thank you. I want to be sure that you mean shrink wrap and not stretch wrap. With shrink wrap one must use a heat gun or some other heat source to get shrinkage to occur. With stretch wrap, which of course is elastic, heat would not be used. Also, you mentioned a 5" width. Do you know the thickness in mils? ie., 80 vs. 150? Thanks Darrell.

Glad you asked. I did mean stretch wrap not shrink wrap. I think generic stretch wrap only comes in one mil thickness and I dont even know what that is.
