Talking to a friend of mine I mentioned building a Maple frame laminating three pieces together to form a frame to hold a 3000# planer so I can roll it around. He thought your Unibond would be the best glue to use. Never having heard of it or seen it I thought I would talk to you to see if you think that it would be strong enough to hold together under that kind of weight? Thank you.

John,

Before I can make a recommendation I need more information. Can you describe the construction of this frame. Is it just three boards glued together like a slab or some kind of joinery?

Please explain.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil

I think it will be basically 3 boards lamenated together, the ends I have been thinking about 3 boards with the center board set up to tongue and groove into the side boards. If you have any other ideas I am open to sugestions. I'm just in the beginning stages so I can change and adapt to something stronger if you think I should. If needed I can go 4 boards thick, both would have 4" roller bearing casters set directly under the foot pads of the machine. If I go with the tongue and groove it would be glued to the sides and ends to form one large lamenated board. Thanks for you help.

John

John,

Since you are tongue and grooving the boards together I don't think it really matters if you use Unibond or a regular yellow glue. It's your choice.

Sincerely.
