Hi Darryl,
You mentioned sharpening a veneer saw by simply beveling the waste side without filing the teeth.Could you please detail the process along with equipment used. Thanks

You still file the teeth the way you would a crosscut handsaw (takes less than 5 minutes) then file a bevel across all the teeth. All you need is a fine triangular saw file and a fine mill file. I'm left handed and a friend recently cast me a left handed handle. I took a regular veneer saw blade and completely refiled all the teeth to make it cut left handed and it took less than 10 minutes.

Bob outlined the process quite well. The veneer saws I have purchased in the past were sharp enough that I did not need to file the teeth. Some laziness on my part as well. However, just recently I taught a class with new veneer saws that were quite dull and just beveling the teeth did not work so well.
