Hi,I've been reading other inquiries and find it very interesting, but did not run across the question I have.I am currently using a contact cement adhessive to laminate veneer onto metal panels and would like to know if this is the proper procedure and if not could you direct me as to what would be the best way to assure a solid adhession to this product? The veneered panels would have to withstand a temperature climate change from -40 degrees up to at least 180 degrees.A solusion would be greatly appreciated and looking forward to your anwser Thank you.

Dear Mike,Contact cement is not a lasting way to bond veneer to anything, especially at the temperature ranges you need. Epoxy or polyurethane are the two glues I would recommend. Of course this requires some kind of a press, but you will have a finished product that will stand the test of time. On the epoxy, get a good quality one, not one of these 5 minute epoxies.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Hi,: I've been reading other inquiries and find it very interesting, but : did not run across the question I have.: I am currently using a contact cement adhessive to laminate veneer : onto metal panels and would like to know if this is the proper : procedure and if not could you direct me as to what would be the best : way to assure a solid adhession to this product?: The veneered panels would have to withstand a temperature climate : change from -40 degrees up to at least 180 degrees.A solusion would : be greatly appreciated and looking forward to your anwser Thank you.

Bonds to metal are also very sensitive to environmental exposure. If the metal isn't properly prepped and protected, exposure to moisture can cause complete disbonds.: Dear Mike,: Contact cement is not a lasting way to bond veneer to anything, especially at the temperature ranges you need.
