In a couple of posts, it's been suggested that one veneer an oversized panel, then trim to size. What is the best tablesaw blade for trimming a veneered panel (so as to produce no tearing or chipout)? Or do you use a router? Thanks,Andrew Barss

:If your core panel is already to final size then a router is your only option. On the end grain side you may want to cut in the 'climb-cut' direction to avoid splintering/splitting. If your panel is oversized then the tablesaw will do it. I've had great success with the 80 tooth blade made by Forrest (the best saw blades on the planet in my biased opinion)Joe SidorowiczSteinway&Sons : In a couple of posts, it's been suggested that one veneer an oversized panel, then trim to size. Dear Andrew,I concur with TTB that a alternate top bevel is the best blade for veneer trimming. I have used triple chip blades and they dont work as well. I also find that if you raise the blade so its a bit high, about a inch or more above the panel surface it cuts cleaner. Safety is an issue with this idea, as the more blade sticking up the more danger to fingers. You will have to decide on this one, better cut or safer operation.SincerelyDarryl Keil: : In a couple of posts, it's been suggested that one veneer an oversized panel, then trim to size. I prefer the router method of trimming, but if you were to use a table saw blade, I would recommend an SATB blade - very steep teeth with a great slicing action. Freud makes the one that I currently use. Results will also vary depending on what species you are laying.: : In a couple of posts, it's been suggested that one veneer an oversized panel, then trim to size.
