I'm new to vacuum veneering and looking for recommendations for any good books out there that will help me make informed choices in selecting parts and pieces to assemble a system suited to my needs. So far I have a Gast regenerative pump rated to pull 26.5 in H2O and 27 CFM open flow to build around. I want to set this up with a switch to maintain a set vacuum level automatically. Any recommendations will be much appreciated!

Dear Cliff,There really arent any books on setting up the components of a vacuum system for veneering.I will say this, a regenerative blower pump, if thats what you have is not the right pump for the job. You have way way too much cfm and not enough vacuum. Look for a rotary vane pump or consider getting a already set up system specifically for veneering.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I'm new to vacuum veneering and looking for recommendations for any : good books out there that will help me make informed choices in : selecting parts and pieces to assemble a system suited to my needs. : So far I have a Gast regenerative pump rated to pull 26.5 in H2O and : 27 CFM open flow to build around. Darryl, that is exactly what I have and I don't understand your comment about too little vacuum. My regenerative pump is rated to produce 26.5" maximum vacuum; the rotary vane pumps you offer are rated at 27" maximum (with automatic shutoff at 25"). These appear to be in exactly the same range. Are we perhaps talking an apples an oranges situation with different units of measure?
