: Dear DH The Company that we buy stair parts from ( Johnson Postman ) sell several rail profiles that are interlocking 1/4" strips that make up the rail profile that is used for bending curved handrails . These are clamped up to the stairs on the job site and left to cure for two or three days . Then sanded and installed using various fittings, what ever the needs are for that job. This bending method is not unique to this company . Almost all the stair suppliers that I have seen on line offer this same method. I hope that this helps . DH: What do you mean by bending strips? Please clarify: Sincerely: Darryl Keil: : : has anyone tried to bend stair rail yet using the bending strips?

Dear DHYes, now I understand what you mean. I have seen them but have not ever tried this kind of hand rail so I cannot give you good advise about them. I will say this, gluing it up in a vacuum bag will not work if you were considering that. Hand rails must be about twice as tall as they are wide to work well in a vacuum bag.SincerelyDarryl Keil: The Company that we buy stair parts from ( Johnson Postman ) sell several rail profiles that are interlocking 1/4" strips that make up the rail profile that is used for bending curved handrails .
