Hi, I have plans for building a cold molded rowboat designed by JohnMarples. It is to be constructed by stitch and glue of two constantcamber panels made on the same mold. The layup is 4 layers of 1/16 inch vener and fiberglass on both sides. It is done with a vacuum bag, and the resin squeezing out of the woodgets absorbed by the glass. It seems like a very cool way to do things, but I don't know where to get 1/16 inch veneer strips. I canonly find 0.6 mm, which is about half that thickness. Anyone know where I can get 1/16 inch? A tool to cut the veneermyself? I'm thinking that doing the two middle layers with balsa, the two outer layers with hardwood, might make a really light boat.Thanks.
