I have just finished glueing my wedges together for a sunburst veneersheet for a Demilune Table. The bottom of the veneer sheet (BlackWalnut) has some deep resaw cuts. Should I worry about these groves orshould I fill them? If so what should I use? Also I would like to usea different type of wood for edge banding. Is there a book or web sitethat shows what wood will complement other woods.Thank You,Steve King

Steve,You didnt say how deep the cuts were or how thick your veneer is. I am assuming by the fact that you have resaw cuts at all that your veneer is sawn by you not a commercially sliced veneer. Remember your veneer should not be any more than 3/32" thick if you want it to remain stable. If you glue your veneer down with epoxy it will fill the resaw cuts just fine especially if you put some thickener in it. Without really knowing how the veneer surface really looks this is the only glue I can recommend no matter what the condition. If the cuts are fairly shallow Unibond 800 would work fine. Dont use white or yellow glue.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I have just finished glueing my wedges together for a sunburst veneer: sheet for a Demilune Table.
