Daryl,I glued up some raw waterfall bubinga last night with unibond and didn't even think to do a test pressing before the real glue up (Dumb, I know). I ended up using way too much glue and got bleed through on about 75% of the surface. Since I normally use two ply or NBL this hasn't been a problem before.I know you reccomend scraping to remove the excess glue but I don't have a scraper and can't find one here inn town. Can I just sand this off with the orbital sander since I am in a bit of a time crunch with this project. Thanks for your help.Kind regards,Dennis

You guys seem to really know your veneer. I thought I might chime in on this one. I always use a scraper never a sander on veneer (Im not light handed enough). When in a pinch you cannot find a scraper a cheap hand saw blade can easily be converted. In fact a garage sale hand saw can make a half dozen scapers saving alot of $$. (waterfall bubinga is expensive).Don

Dennis,If a orbital sander is what you've got then it will do. Just be sure you get it all off. Wiping with water every so often will show you how well you are doing.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Daryl,: I glued up some raw waterfall bubinga last night with unibond and : didn't even think to do a test pressing before the real glue up : (Dumb, I know). Darryl,Thanks for the advice. It was working great until I sanded through the veneer. With the shop vac hooked up to the sander I didn't realize how much I was taking off(no dust).... oops.I just re-veneered over top of the panel and it looks fine. Thanks!Dennis: Dennis,: If a orbital sander is what you've got then it will do.
