Hi, I will be making a 5' round table and veneering the top with 5" strips of Ebony. I would possibly like to have a starbust design. How can I get step by step instructions??Thanks in advance,Leo

Fine woodworking a few years ago had an excellent article by Frank Pollaro, on how to do a radial bookmatch. I used it to make a table. I was disappointed to find out that article did not make it onto the FWW CD.

Leo,Well, I am not aware of any books or videos that cover radial matching and I really couldnt give you decent instruction on this forum. I would suggest finding a woodworking school or group that could bring someone in to teach it. I do teach a one week veneering class every summer at the Center for Furniture Craftsmenship in Rockport Maine. We cover radial matching there. I assume this is to far away for you, time and distance. Look around in your area, you may find something.Maybe someone else that reads these posts may know of a book or video that covers this. If nothing else get some scrap veneer and play around.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Hi, : I will be making a 5' round table and veneering the top with 5" : strips of Ebony.
