Michael,Your right, I didnt know the box was so big and that it didnt open. In that case I would put in internal bracing and you will be fine. Besides, if you veneer a box this big in a vacuum press without bracing it would most likely implode.SincerelyDarryl Keil: : Michael,: I should have given you dimensions in the first message. While not large, the box will be about 20" x 20" x 13". The box is meant to be completely closed and will not be opened.: If internal stiffners were used do you think things would still be OK?: Thanks again,: Michael Lomax: : Because boxes are usually not very big you can get away with just veneering the outside. I think you will be fine with that.: : Sincerely: : Darryl Keil: : : : In the past I have always veneered both sides of a panel. However, I : : : need to build a box with all of the corners mitered. I imagine it : : : would be much easier to apply the veneer after the box is built. : : : This makes pressing the veneer on the interior impossible. Because : : : the structure of the box will increase the ridgidity of the panel, : : : can I get away without veneering the interior?: : : Suggestions, techniques? Is it time to get out the Contact cement : : : and paperbacked veneer? (Not my preference): : : Thanks in advance.: : : Michael Lomax
