Mike,20mil vinyl usually comes 54" wide so I suggest a making a 54"x 54" bag. I know this may sound a bit big but you would be surprised how much bag a item can eat up, especially a shape like yours.SincerelyDarryl Keil: The pump I am using is probably light duty compared to regular systems. Robinair 1/2 h.p. 6 cfm. I am a little lost on the size of bag. The biggest drum is 18" deep x 22" wide[70" circrumfrence] How big of bag do I need? I really appreciate the guidance you guys have given so far!!!!!!!!!: : I would make a bag big to fit the whole drum, big enough so you can push the extra material inside the drum. The 20mil will be fine. The real issue is can you seal the bag well enough to get sufficent vacuum. You did not say how big you vacuum pump is. If the cfm flow is too small it wont be able to keep up with the leaks, and you will have leaks. Do a dry run to find out.: : Sincerely: : Darryl Keil: : : : After pricing some bags the price of the bag has pushed me over my : : : price limit for the project. I was wondering if I could use some .020 : : : plastic roll wrap from a frabic place. Lay the plastic on the top and : : : bottom inside of the drum and tape or seal someway and then apply : : : vacuum. Or just make a big bag 70" x 1" x 22" to go all the way : : : around the inside and outside of the drum and place the drum inside : : : then seal it. Will the bag be to weak and stretch, not applying : : : enough pressure.
