Well, I guess I will chime in on this one since there are not any responses to your question. As the manufacturer, I prefer to let customers speak as manufacturers can be suspect for the obvious reasons.
With that said, I will say that I have been trying to make a "book" bag for many many years without satisfactory success...until I stumbled across this particular pressure, gas, water and vacuum proof zipper. At first I was suspicious that a zipper could possibly provide a good seal against vacuum force but after quite a long trial period I was and continue to be impressed with the holding power of these zippers. We have had them on the market for almost 4 years and everyone seems to love them.
As to your question about the ease of operating the zipper, they zip and unzip as easily as any large zipper. The only additional attention needed in "docking" the zipper at the end which requires a good tug to lock it in place so it seals properly.
