Do I need to worry about flattening the ends of 4' x 8' engineered wood veneer sheets if the ends curve up about 2-1/2" on the last 12" on each end?

In general, backed veneer, (which I'm assuming this is) does not respond well to flattening. A bit of curl on the ends should not be an issue. Sounds like it was left rolled up too long. I would put the veneer under a sheet of plywood for a few days. That should help relax it more.

It would be interesting to learn what response your question gets from your supplier.
