I need to fill in several hollow spots on a contoured wood project before vacuum veneering with Unibond 800 glue. The largest spot may be 1" by 3" by 0.125"deep. After filling with epoxy, I would let cure well and then sand the surface flush with 60-80 grit. The spots will not have any significant structural stress to speak of.

My question is: Has anyone had experience with this type of bond (Unibond 800 to epoxy) over 5+years? In my search and reading on this forum, one possibility I found might be "Durhams Rock Hard"? But, I have never used it. Or, is there a better material to fill with?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

Unibond does not stick well to epoxy or bondo. As you read Durhams Rock Hard is a good filler for under Unibond.

Thanks.
I will get some Rock Hard and try it.
