Has anyone had a problem with the seams of the backer material of wood on wood veneer telegraphing through. We are using the outside the bag technique to laminate curved pieces (approx. 16" wide X 72" long), with 3 layers of 3/8" bending ply, and faces of wood on wood maple. Some of the sheets have 1 piece backer, and some have backer made with 4" wide pieces. The telegraphing appears to be at the seams and run full width across the finished laminations. We have done many of these in the past and never had this occur.

Bob,

Never have heard of this one before. Don't know what to tell you. There must have been something going on in the manufacturing process of that batch of wood on wood you got.

We were able to eliminate the problem by sanding the backer with a block. We also picked at the joints to make sure there were no signs of delamination. Flexwood, from Flexible Materials.
