I recently bought the Standard vacuum press and after some practice plan to build a William & Mary chest my wife found in one of her magazines. Attached is the only photo I have which is from the magazine.
I initially thought the chest was walnut with walnut burl drawer fronts but now I am not so sure. Could it be mahogany? Any thoughts on what the borders on the drawer fronts are made of? I really like the subtle change of color.

Jim,

Its a little hard to see in this picture but I'm going with walnut burl. The borders appear to be solid which I think is walnut. Walnut tends to get lighter over time so the fact that this border is somewhat lighter than the burl would seem to fit.

Cant say for sure without a good high rez photo but this is my take.
