I am wondering if anyone has experience sticking veneer to a multi-ply (Roseburg's if it matters) core that has been sanded through in spots. Here's why: In an attempt to flatten the core and its corebanding, some spots sanded through the outer veneer layer, so it's exposed their glue. Will my glue stick to theirs? I think Unibond would, but what about PVA? I did a PVA mockup and tried to separate it. It worked there, but I have a whole kitchen to do...

Alec,

PVA glue is not know for its ability to stick to non-porous surfaces, like where the glue line is exposed, but if you did a test and its well bonded then you're probably fine. Of course the urea resin glue would be a sure bet.

Thanks Darryl. We decided on Unibond and all is going well of course. It sure looked like it would have worked with PVA, but not worth the risk I think. Thank you for your insight.
