Subject : Is MDO a good substrate for veneered stair treads?

In the past I've used popular for a substrate but I'm wondering if MDO would work just as well. It would require less work to get ready for veneering.

MDO is a great product, it would be fine for what you are wanting to do. I would rough the surface with sandpaper to assure a good bond.
