I bought this beautiful veneer from a vendor that's new to me. He said it's curly makore. It seems to be so different in color than any makore I've ever seen. What do you think? It seems more orange than I'm used to.

Sure looks like Makore to me. Here's a link to a guy who must love wood. I sell a lot of veneer to him so he's pretty credible. some of the makore photos are mine from veneer flitches of the past.

When in doubt... check with the "hobbit"

Yeah, I've got him on speed dial (favorites). I'll check it out. I must have looked at his site over a hundred times, when I first started selling pen blanks.
