I have some unknown burl veneer that I've had for a while. I think it might be redwood. I decided to use some of it for a door panel this weekend and when I got it down and opened it, there was a yellow mold along the grain lines. It is a dry mold, not moist, almost powdery.
Obviously I can't sand it off. Can anyone shed any light on this problem or offer a treatment to kill it which will not destroy the veneer. It is very attractive and, despite the mold, in very solid condition.

Kelly,

I'm no expert on mold as I've never had any veneer with it. I would suggest calling Certainly Wood or Berkshire Veneer. They may have some answers for you.
